For the 9th time: Insight into the stage technologies
Conception and guide:
Bernd E. Gengelbach, Co-Director and Technical Director euro-scene Leipzig,
and Antje Gruber, Construction forman Schauspiel Leipzig
Stage technology is usually a mystery and generally invisible for the audience. You usually just pay attention to the stage design, music and lighting effects. The performance lasts an hour or two; the technical set-up from unloading the set until the beginning of the performance often takes two complete days.
In 2010, euro-scene Leipzig elicited great interest with a first insight into technical processes. The guided tour has developed into a popular programme element in the course of the last eight editions. This year it will take place at the Schauspielhaus. The focus is on history and a look into the theatre’s rooms, but primarily on the technical realisation of the guest performance »Une histoire de la musique« (»A history of music«) from Grenoble, which will be shown here a few hours later for the first time.
