»Le sacre du printemps« (»The rite of spring«) is the most significant ballet of the 20th century. It received its world premiere exactly 100 years ago in 1913 in Paris and became a scandal due to its unusual nature. Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) created a work of major importance for modernity with his music – composed for the company Ballets Russes and choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky.

euro-scene Leipzig has brought three of the most innovative current choreographers with very different styles together for an evening:

David Wampach concentrates completely on the topic and rhythm of Stravinsky in his unsettlingly humorous duo »Sacre« (»Rite«). Tero Saarinen, a significant personality within the international dance community, combines dance and multimedia art in his outstanding solo »Hunt«, which has been shown 171 times in 32 countries. And Georges Momboye, figurehead for African dance, combines, together with 12 dancers, western modernity and African rituals in a lively and exciting way.
