The independent Czech dance community is rich and full of aesthetic diversity. Two interesting and very different choreographies will now be presented in Leipzig:

In her solo »Tanec magnetické balerínky« (»Dance of the magic ballerina«), Andrea Miltnerová plays with the correlation between a ballerina and a moth – between dance and nature. Her tutu resembles poetically the futile attempts of an insect to escape from our world.

Andrea Miltnerová received her dance training in her native London and then moved to Prague in search of her Czech roots. She danced in the ballet of the Národní divadlo (national theatre) and currently works as freelance choreographer and dancer. She was a guest at euro-scene Leipzig in 2011 with the dance pieces »Pentimento« and »Fractured«.

In »Orbis pictus« (Latin: The visible world), the company Nanohach explores the unconscious. A man and a woman attempt to explore the past through memory. The choreographers Michal Záhora and Lenka Bartůňková created, together with the renowned lighting designer Jan Komárek, images of fascinating deceptions of the senses.

The company was founded in 2004 by graduates of Konzervatoř Duncan Centre Praha and is one of the most well-known dance groups in Prague. They worked with various choreographers from the Czech Republic and abroad, including Nigel Charnock.
